New Additions to The Wildlife Experience’s Community Advisory Board

DENVER - September 2, 2005 - The Wildlife Experience announces the addition of three members to its Community Advisory Board, which was created in early 2004 to aid in further development of the new museum, located in Parker, Colorado.

The Community Advisory Board is a group of talented and creative individuals who will focus on building connections, and consequently increasing opportunities for sponsorships, funding, and general public awareness on behalf of The Wildlife Experience. Their purpose is to enhance community outreach, attract donors and introduce contacts to The Wildlife Experience, support membership drives and other events and to discuss future strategies.

The Wildlife Experience warmly welcomes the following to the current Community Advisory Board:
  • Jim Christensen is the Superintendent of Douglas County Schools. Christensen grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where his career as a teacher began. Prior to Douglas County Schools, he was the superintendent of Adams School District. Christensen has served on several boards and has been involved with development activities, chambers of commerce and Rotary.
  • Wendy Holmes is the Director of Public Affairs for Douglas County. She has nearly thirty years of experience in marketing, public relations and issues and reputation management for corporate, agency and non-profit organizations. Holmes serves on the Board of the Women’s Crisis and Family Outreach Center, is a Bighorn Institute for Public Policy Fellow and an alumnus of Leadership Denver.
  • Pamela Schenck is the Senior General Manager for Park Meadows Mall. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1980 and is a native of Nebraska. In 1995, Trizec Hahn assigned her the responsibility of opening Park Meadows Mall, which has gained international acclaim as one of the most successful shopping centers in the United States. Schenck is a member of the Board of Governors for the Southeastern Business Partnership, the South Metro Chamber of Commerce and is a former president of the Arapahoe Community College Foundation Board.
Membership to the Community Advisory Board is on a voluntary basis, and the Board meets bi-monthly. For more information on The Wildlife Experience’s Community Advisory Board, please contact Dick Franklin at dfranklin@twexp.org.
